He is the real character of Yugi, a spirit sealed inside a millennium puzzle. 3,000 years ago, he got the title of Pharaoh after previous Pharaoh Akunumkanon who was his father. His responsibility was to protect the kingdom from the invaders and destruction. Then, the dark master, Zork Necrophidius, appeared to let the world be in danger. Pharaoh sacrificed himself to seal both his soul and Zork's soul inside a millennium puzzle forever. 3,000 years later, Pharaoh's spirit was back by
living in Mutou Yugi's body. Having passed a lot of battle stages, he gathered
all of important facters to recover his memory as Pharaoh. Everybody calls him
Yugi, the name he shares with his original character. This is because he has
forgetton everything about his past life as well as his real name. Nameless
Pharaoh (Namonaki Pharaoh) is now ready to return to his tragedy in his
own memory sealed inside a millennium puzzle. High priest has present life as Kaiba Seto. He was a holder of a millennium rod having power to transfer Ka (People's spirit) to be sealed in the ancient tablets. His father, the priest Akunadin, was previous Pharaoh Akunumkanon's brother, so he was Pharaoh's cousin. Seto had never relized that Akunadin was his
father. He usually looked self-confident and arrogant. Whatever he had faith in
was power. I believed that power could beat everything. However, he was still
honest to the kingdom and Pharaoh. In order to pretect them, he could use any
kind of power even dark power, no matter what. After see power of 3 gods of
Pharaoh, he planned to get power over gods'. Then he accidently found that power
sealed inside Kisara's mind in form of white dragon. An old priest was younger brother of previous Pharaoh, Akunumkanon, and Seto's father. Having translated magic book, he got it's idea to create millennium items and gain their's power to protect the kingdom from the invaders. Of course, he hadn't expected the dreadful result coming later. After becoming a holder of a millennium eye, he had been gradually controlled by darkness. Dark power activated his stupid wish having his son become Pharaoh or the king. In order to reach that purpose, Akunadin planned to give Seto greater power than gods, a white dragon. In fact, Akunadin was the same person as Zork
Necrophidius. His mind had turned into evil after creating millennium items and
being activated by the thief Bakura. Akunadin or Zork's spirit are now fighting
against Pharaoh again in memory world. High priest was a holder of a millennium Anhk.
Many people belive that he is present life of Shadi. By using his power, Seto
requested him to look through people's minds to find great Ka.  The Priest Mahado High priest was a holder of a millennium ring. It was amazed that he was the spirit of Dark Magician, major-monster card of Yugi. That the thief Bakura invaded into previous Pharaoh's tomb was his responsibility. So, he decided to destroy the thief Bakura alone. However, he failed. With his spirit to follow Pharaoh as an honest servant forever, he sealed his soul into his Ka. Then the thief Bakura could get his millennium ring. Mahado was a magician. After becoming a holder of
a millennium item, he had been sealed his real power until his final battle
against the thief Bakura in Pharaoh's tomb. Though all of his power was
released, it couldn't beat Diabound of the great thief. So, he sacrificed
himself to beat Diabound and to become an honest servant of Pharaoh forever as
Black Magician. Beautiful priest was a holder of a millennium
Tauk. Her power was prediction what was going to happen to the kingdom. However,
she couldn't predict the future of persons having the same power as she or
persons holding millennium items. At present, she is a character of Isis Ishtar. Great thief is a spirit of Bakura Ryoo at present. 3,000 years ago when Bakura was young, he was a surviver from Kuruelna Village. An innocent child was hiding himself and seeing his villagers being slaughtered by Akunadin's army. So, he had detested Pharaoh, the priests and the kingdom since then. Then he became a thief to steal all treasures of Pharaoh especially millennium items. Bakura planned to gather the millennium items in
order to gain dark power of Zork Necrophidius. By his powerful Ka, Diabound, no
one even gods could beat him. Pretty girl was a student of
the priest Mahado. Her face looked similar to Black Magician Girl. Of course,
she was a spirit of it. Mana was studying magic lesson from her teacher. After
her teacher'death, she gave a promise to herself to become a great magician
following her teacher. Right hand of Pharaoh was
once a holder of a millennium Anhk. He had served the dynasty since Pharaoh
Akunumkanon's era. All of the traps inside Pharaoh's tombs were designed by him.
Of course, he has present life as Mutou Sugoroku, Yugi's grandfather. His soul
was resurrectted to serve Pharaoh's soul inside Mutou Yugi's mind. Previous Pharaoh was father
of Pharaoh Yugi. He had been a holder of a millennium puzzle before it descended
to Pharaoh Yugi. He was such a great and generous king who dedicated himself on
peace of the kingdom. In fact, he had no idea how millennium items were created
by his younger brother Akunadin. The thief Bakura much hated him because he
misunderstood that he would have sent the troops to slaughter people in his
village in order to create millennium items. A blue-eye and white-skin
girl having great power sealed inside her mind in form of white dragon. She was
such a mysterious girl. No one had an idea where she came from. Kisara appeared
when the priest Seto was hunting people's spirits; in the city. The villagers
thought that she was a bad luck. A strange girl with different skin and native
would let the kingdom be in destruction. Seto helped her from being attacked by
the villagers. She was secretly brought into the palace because Seto saw such a
great Ka having power over gods inside her mind. Seto and Akunadin tried to
prove her power by sending her into the battle stage of the prisoners. They had
expected that her Ka should have expressed to protect herself when she was in
danger. However, Ka didn't appear when she was being done harm. It appeared when
she was unconscious and both she and Seto were in danger. An old servant took the
priest Seto's command to figure out how to straighten Ka of people. He tested
the prisoners captured from Ka hunt by sending them into the battle field. Then
he got the answer that Ka would be greater when the owners had strong desire of
surviving. Anyway, he was much amazed when he saw such an incredible Ka, a white
dragon of Kisara which he had never seen. Milenium items

De god-cards When game designer, Pegasus J. Crawford went to Egypt, he found stone tablets of ancient dark duels. He based a Collectible Card Game on these stone tablet recordings and called it Duel Monsters. However, he also created 3 unimaginable cards based on one tablet which the battle between a young Egyptian pharaoh resembling Yuugi controlling Black Magician and a priest who controls a monster resembling Blue Eyes White Dragon. However, above the battle, the engraving of the Millennium Puzzle was surrounded by 3 card engravings...Sliver the sky dragon Winged dragon of ra Obelisk the tormentor Each of these 3 mythological beasts represent the polarity of the universe. Obelisk represents light and darkness. Osiris represents good and evil. Ra represents earth and sky. Whoever obtains these 3 rare cards, will become forever undefeatable. The person will dominate the world of dueling, and will also gain the title "King of Duelists". However Pegasus regretted ever making these 3 rare cards. Because the cards, as if with the power of the actual deity living inside them, they all have super strong powers. Whoever obtains these cards can use them for good and for bad. If an evil heart uses these cards, it could even be used to take away someone's life. In games, they could become the ultimate weapon. Pegasus originally wanted to take care of the cards himself, but he failed, therefore he decided to let these cards sleep forever at where they came from, deep underground at the "Valley of Kings" in Egypt. Egyptian department of archaeology accepted the job and sealed the 3 cards at 3 locations in Valley of Kings. However someone stole them out...GHOULS, a notorious international rare card thieving organisation, stole the cards. However, 1 card was prevented from being stolen. Isis Ishtar, head of the Department of Archaeology of the Egyptian government came to Domino City, and also opened up an Egyptian exhibition at the Domino City museum. She opened up the exhibition because she wanted to reveal where Duel Monsters came from. She believes that these stone tablets have the power of gathering a large group of duelists. Upon telling her guest, Seto Kaiba, CEO of Kaiba Corp., she handed Kaiba the one card that was prevented from being stolen, the God of Obelisk. She entrusts the card to Kaiba because she believes Kaiba has the power of keeping the card safe, and she also believe if she gives Kaiba the card, GHOUL will be out on the prey again...AND THUS STARTED THE BATTLE CITY.

Akunadin
sacrificed the thieves in Kuruelna village to perform this ritual. Of
course, Pharaoh Akunumkanon hadn't realized about slaughter. When
creating finished, seven holders were selected. Pharaoh was at the top
level following by the six priests. The kingdom was safe from the
invaders when dark power from seven millennium items was released.
However, it was just the beginning. The real tragedy caused from
millennium items took place in the next era of Egypt when Pharaoh
Akunumkanon's son (Yugi) ruled the kingdom. Akunadin hadn't realized
that he had been partially controlled by a shadow since he created
millennium items. Darkness called him and tired to give him his stupid
wish "Having his son become Pharaoh". So, he was much
frightened when the thief Bakura appeared and said that he was a
survivor from Kuruelna village. 
Bakura misunderstood that Pharaoh slaughtered his villagers. He also
tried to gather all millennium items back to the lithograph under
Kuruelna village where an ancient ritual was performed. If he could
return all of them back, he could gain dark power of Zork Necrophidius.
Yugi took 8 years to
solve a millennium puzzle at first time while he took a few minutes at
second time. A millennium puzzle gave a wish for him "Having true
friend whom can be counted on". Since then, spirit of Pharaoh
sealed inside the puzzle has obsessed Yugi's body.
Malik got a millennium rod
from his family and used it kill his father. After being defeated at
final round of Battle City, he returned the rod to Yugi.
Isis got a millennium
Tauk from her family. By its power, she could see the future. Her
prediction was wrong when she dueled against Kaiba at Battle Ship. After
losing, she gave it back to Yugi. 3,000 years ago, Isis used the Tauk
predict the future of kingdom and people. However, she couldn't see the
future of millennium items' holders.
